Casey Nelson, District 4

BACKGROUND

Married to wife (Nicole) with two children (4 and 3 years old) and baby girl due in March.  Work at the VA clinic in Green Bay as a Hematology/Oncology Clinical Pharmacist.  Proud co-owner of not one, but two minivans.

Graduated from Appleton North High School, did undergrad at UW-Madison and graduate degree at Midwestern University outside of Chicago.

Member of the De Pere Board of Health, currently facilitating program in conjunction with MCW Psychiatry Residents to hold monthly sessions at the Community Center regarding mental health. Member of the Brown County Prevention Coalition:  Falls Prevention Subcommittee.  Sought and gained approval for the creation of a Sustainability Commission within De Pere, where we will initiate and develop programs that create and enhance sustainable practices within the community.

WHY I'M RUNNING:

I am running for re-election to City Council because I have thoroughly enjoyed having the ability to make De Pere a better place to live and raise a family.  While I acknowledge that some might not agree with certain initiatives I have brought forward, I believe it is hard to argue I have not put a lot of time and energy into this position.  We are working to improve our monthly mental health outreach sessions and will hopefully be adding more programming.  I hope to have the opportunity to continue this work and ask for your vote on April 2.
